Review: Maxi-peel Sunblock Cream

I’m honestly not a fan of Maxi-peel exfoliants as my mom warned me on using it. I know that Maxi-peel is effective, but I just cannot follow the precautions needed for the product. Using the exfoliant requires a person to stay indoors, or somewhere NOT under the sun as direct exposure to sunlight would cause a burning sensation. As a usual commuter, I’m always walking from one place to another so I thought that this is not for me. I also don’t want to see my face extremely peeling, especially when I’m about to go outside the house. :/ Sorry for the long intro.

I bought this Maxi-peel sunblock cream in a bundle with other Maxi-peel products. But when bought solely, this would cost P15.00 only. Pretty cheap right? So here is what’s under the packaging:

Designed to provide total sun protection, especially for exfoliant-treated skin.

The cream is opaque white on the packaging as well as when applied to the skin. The texture is dry and the cream dries out fast so better be quick in spreading it on your face. It’s easily absorbed by the skin.

What I like about this product is that it has SPF. The SPF is relatively low, but at least it has some. I love that it’s small so you can bring it anywhere. Also as mentioned, it is easily absorbed by the skin. The cream is not heavy on the face as well.

Negative points I have on this product. First is the smell. It’s supposed to be odorless but I can smell something like a drugstore product. I hate it at first to the point of thinking not to continue using it, but later on I got habituated. Second, it emphasized the dry parts of my face. So I needed to put moisturizer pa to hide the dry part. Lastly, it made my face oily after a few hours so I needed blotting papers. Maybe I’m just really oily in the first place.

If I were to rate this product, I would give it a 3 out of 5. I may not be super satisfied with this product but this could be your starting sunblock. But hey, for the price this one’s okay. 🙂

Have you tried this product? 🙂
